When You Might Want the Chase Sapphire Reserve?

You might prefer the Chase Sapphire Reserve card over the Hilton Aspire card in the following situations:

  • Ultimate Rewards Flexibility: If your travel habits involve a mix of airlines and hotel chains, the Chase Sapphire Reserve is preferable as it offers more flexibility with its Ultimate Rewards program, allowing you to redeem points across a wide range of travel partners, not limited to Hilton properties.

  • Priority Pass Lounge Access: The Chase Sapphire Reserve's Priority Pass Select membership provides access to over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide, including many lounges that are not affiliated with Hilton. This makes the Chase Sapphire Reserve a more attractive option for travelers who want lounge access at a wider variety of airports.

  • You Use The Card Only For Travel – when it comes to common travel categories, the Reserve card provides a better value. So if this is your main travel card, the Reserve card may be a better option.

When You Might Want the Hilton Aspire Card?

You might prefer the Hilton Amex Aspire if:

  • Loyalty to Hilton Properties: If you frequently stay at Hilton hotels, the Hilton Amex Aspire offers automatic Diamond status, providing valuable perks like room upgrades, lounge access, and increased points earning, making it a more compelling choice.

  • Desire for Luxury Hotel Benefits: The Hilton Amex Aspire provides Hilton resort credit, airline fee credit, and a free night reward annually upon required spending, catering to individuals who prioritize luxury hotel experiences and seek substantial offsets to the card's annual fee.

  • You Use The Card For Groceries And Supermarkets: When it comes to these categories, the Hilton cards offer a much higher rewards ratio than Chase, so if you plan to use the card also for everyday spending, it may be a better choice.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
