The TD First Class Visa Signature® Credit Card is an airline miles rewards card aimed at people who spend a lot on travel and dining. The card offers 3X First Class miles on travel and dining purchases and 1X First Class miles on all other purchases.

There is a sign up bonus of 25,000 miles on $3,000 spent in first 6 cycles and 0% intro APR for 12 billing cycles on balance transfers. Other pros include no foreign transaction fees, rental car coverage and Visa Zero Liability protection add further benefits.

Despite its benefits, the card may not suit everyone. There is $89 (waived first year) annual fee (waived in the first year), and redemptions below 25,000 miles receive only 50% of the value.

The TD First Class℠ Visa Signature® Credit Card lacks travel partners, limiting flexibility compared to other rewards programs. Redemption options include statement credits, gift cards, and merchandise, but redemptions for travel or dining require calling the TD Rewards Center. The card doesn't allow online or automatic redemption.

How can I redeem TD miles earned with this card?

Redemption options include statement credits, gift cards, and merchandise, but for travel or dining, cardholders need to call the TD Rewards Center.

Can I transfer TD miles to other rewards programs?

No, TD miles cannot be transferred to other rewards programs.

This card offers you a signup bonus of 25,000 miles on $3,000 spent in first 6 cycles. The steps required to earn this bonus are very straightforward and can be attained easily if you spend a lot.

TD First Class Visa Signature Credit Card specially rewards you for spending on travels and dining. You get 3X First Class miles on travel and dining purchases and 1X First Class miles on all other purchases.

Unlike many other credit card issuers, this card does not charge any fee for foreign transactions.

The card offers a 0% APR for 12 billing cycles on balance transfers, a valuable feature for individuals looking to manage credit card debt without incurring interest charges

Cardholders benefit from rental car coverage, providing protection when renting a car using the TD First Class℠ Visa Signature® Credit Card and the option to decline rental company insurance.

The $89 (waived first year) is high when you consider other rewards cards which charge less than this and offer comparable, sometimes better, benefits.

You have to spend at least $2,967 on travel and dining or $8,900 on other purchases to earn enough rewards to offset the impact of your annual fee on this card.

Since this introductory rate is limited to balance transfers, you may still be charged interest on purchases you make with your card if you don’t pay off your full balance by the due date each month.

Unlike some competitors, TD miles cannot be transferred to other rewards programs, limiting the flexibility and potentially reducing the card's overall value for those seeking diverse redemption options.

Only redemptions of 25,000 miles or more receive 100% of the value for travel or dining purchases, potentially discouraging smaller redemptions and limiting flexibility.

The card is only available to residents in specific states within the TD Bank footprint, potentially excluding individuals from applying based on their location.

Third Step:

Verify your identity by providing your date of birth and social security number.

Fourth Step:

Fill in your gross annual income and source of income. You will also be asked to provide information on your job industry and role. You will be asked to verify your information before proceeding to the next stage.

There are two optional steps after this. You may choose to transfer balances from your other cards. To do this, you must provide the amount, card account number, and card issuer name and address.

You may also choose to add other authorized users (up to 3). You will need to provide their names and birth dates to do this.

If your application is approved, you may receive a credit card account starting with a minimum access line of $5,000. It could be more. While many things typically go into the credit card approval process, it is important to have very good to excellent credit score when applying for a TD First Class Visa Signature Credit Card. They check.

How It Compared To Other Travel Cards?

In terms of rewards, the TD First Classâ„  Visa Signature® Credit Card stands out with its 3X miles on travel and dining purchases. This puts it on par with some mid-tier travel cards that also offer elevated rewards for similar categories such as the Venture Card by Capital One (2X – 5X ) or the Citi Premier® Card (1X – 3X ) but lower than other card such as the Chase Preferred card (2X – 5X) or the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect (1X – 5X).

One area where the TD card falls short is in the flexibility of its rewards program. Unlike some competitors, it lacks the option to transfer miles to other loyalty programs, limiting the versatility of its rewards. Cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Card, for example, allow users to transfer points to various airline and hotel partners, providing more options for maximizing the value of rewards.

The TD First Class℠ Visa Signature® Credit Card's 0% introductory APR on balance transfers for 12 billing cycles is a vital feature for those looking to manage existing credit card debt. This is not a common feature among competing travel cards.

However, some cards offer rewards that are not available through TD, such as Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credits (Venture Card), cell phone protection, and even lounge access (U.S. Bank Altitude Connect).

Is the TD First Class Card Right for You?

Making the most out of a TD First Class Visa Signature Credit Card requires you to spend, a lot. You also have to be strategic about how you do this since not all purchases carry equal rewards.

If you don’t travel much, earn a low income or are struggling with a poor credit score, you should look elsewhere for options more suited to your situation. If you have excellent credit and spend a lot on traveling, however, this card may be for you. This is a tailored travel rewards card and it does not offer much for any other type of user.

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
