If you’re considering the Lane Bryant credit card, you must be realistic about your expectations. This card offers some nice perks that are likely to appeal to highly brand-loyal people, but casual customers may not get the most value from the card.
The rewards are a little on the low side, and they do expire, particularly once the points have been automatically converted into rewards. You are also restricted from using the card since it cannot be used for purchases outside Lane Bryant.
So, suppose you are not particularly brand loyal to Lane Bryant. In that case, you may prefer to look at more general rewards cards, which may not only offer more flexible rewards but could provide additional perks not offered with this card.

Pros and Cons
Similar to other credit cards on the market, the Lane Bryant card has its own set of pros and cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Tiered Rewards According to Lane Rewards Status | Limited to Lane Bryant |
Birthday Offer | Low Reward Redemption Rate |
Free Standard Shipping | Points Expire |
Extended Returns | Low Welcome Bonus |
- Tiered Rewards According to Lane Rewards Status
The Lane Bryant credit card is tied to the Lane Rewards program, but you’ll get more points per dollar than base rewards members. Your specific rewards rate depends on your Lane Rewards status and its associated annual spend requirement.
- Silver status members have a spend requirement of $0 to $349, and will earn 15 points for every dollar spent.
- Gold status requires spending of $350 to $799, but you’ll receive 20 points per dollar.
- Platinum members have a spend requirement of $800 or more per year, but will receive 25 points per dollar.
You’ll receive a $10 reward for every 3,000 points you accumulate.
- Birthday Offer
You’ll receive a birthday offer at the beginning of the month of your birthday. These offers typically have a minimum purchase requirement.
- Free Standard Shipping
As a cardholder, you’ll receive free standard shipping on qualifying online purchases of at least $75. However, if you have Platinum Status, you can enjoy free shipping with no spend requirement.
- Extended Returns
When you use your Lane Bryant card to make your purchases in store or at Lanebryant.com, you can enjoy extended returns.
You will need to have your original receipt, but you can receive a refund up to 60 days after the purchase date or a gift card/ exchange after 60 days. This is longer than the standard 45 day period for regular customers.
- Limited to Lane Bryant
Essentially, this is a store card rather than a credit card as it can only be used in Lane Bryant stores or when you shop at the official Lane Bryant website. This means that you won’t be able to use the card outside of this brand.
- Low Reward Redemption Rate
You’ll only get a $10 reward for every 3,000 points, which is lower compared to general reward cards. Although you can earn up to 25 points per dollar, each point is only worth 0.33 cents each.
- Points Expire
While you can earn unlimited points, your points will expire after 12 months. Additionally, once your points are converted automatically into rewards, your rewards will expire in just 60 days.
- Low Welcome Bonus
Although there are many cards that offer a welcome bonus that may add up to hundreds of dollars, the Lane Bryant credit card only offers a $20 sign up bonus. Additionally, in order to receive the bonus, you must use it on the same day as you open your account.
You can only redeem the bonus at the location where you applied for the card, so if you apply online, you have to use the bonus online and spend at least $20.01.
Is the Lane Bryant Credit Card Right for You?
Since this is essentially a store charge card, it is best suited to those who are highly brand loyal to Lane Bryant. In order to get the most from the card, you should be a regular shopper either in your local store or on the Lane Bryant website. This will allow you to take advantage of the free shipping and extended returns perks.
The card could also be a good option for those who enjoy shopping at Lane Bryant, but are worried about the temptation of being able to run up a large bill anywhere. Since the card can only be used at Lane Bryant, you will not be able to use it to pay for unplanned purchases.

Tips for Using the Lane Bryant Card
Although this card is quite straightforward, there are a couple of tips that can help you to get the most value from it. These include:
-
Plan Your Application
Since you can only use your welcome bonus at the location where your card application was approved, on the day of approval, you’ll need to think carefully about your application.
If you’re on a flying visit to your local store and don’t plan to go back for a while, you may want to avoid applying for your card there and then. You may be better to apply online and then you can use your sign up bonus on the website.
-
Keep Hold Of Your Receipt
Although Lane Bryant cardholders can enjoy extended returns, this is only really beneficial if you have your receipt.
If you cannot provide your receipt, you’ll only get a gift card or exchange at the lowest selling price of the item.
