Which Credit Card Program Allow Transferring Points To The World of Hyatt?

The Chase Ultimate Rewards program allows transferring points to the World of Hyatt loyalty program. Members with a Chase credit card that earns Ultimate Rewards points, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, can transfer their points to the World of Hyatt program at a 1:1 ratio. This means that 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points will equal 1,000 World of Hyatt points.

To transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt, members must log in to their Ultimate Rewards account, select the “Transfer to Travel Partners” option, and then choose World of Hyatt as the transfer partner. The transfer process usually takes 1-2 business days to complete.

Other credit card programs such as American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Capital One Travel do not offer direct point transfer to the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

What To Do If I Can't Transfer It Directly?

It's possible to transfer these points to other loyalty programs or airlines that have a partnership with World of Hyatt, and then transfer them to World of Hyatt. It's always best to check the terms and conditions of the credit card program and the transfer options they offer before making any transfer.

For example, American Express Membership Rewards program allows transferring points to other frequent travel programs such as Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, etc. that have a partnership with World of Hyatt.

Similarly, Citi ThankYou program allows transferring points to frequent travel programs such as JetBlue, and etc. that have a partnership with World of Hyatt. Capital One does not have a direct transfer option to World of Hyatt but you can redeem your rewards for statement credit towards travel purchases including Hyatt hotel stays.

World of Hyatt Elite Status: How It Works?

The World of Hyatt loyalty program offers elite status to members who stay at Hyatt hotels and resorts frequently. Elite status provides members with additional benefits and perks, such as room upgrades, free nights, and more.

Elite status is earned based on the number of nights stayed or the number of base points earned in a calendar year. There are four levels of elite status in the World of Hyatt program:

  • Discoverist: This is the first tier of elite status, which is earned after staying or earning 10 qualifying nights or earning 25,000 base points.
  • Explorist: This is the second tier of elite status, which is earned after staying or earning 30 qualifying nights or earning 50,000 base points.
  • Globalist: This is the top tier of elite status, which is earned after staying or earning 60 qualifying nights or earning 100,000 base points.

There is also lifetime globalist level, which can be achieved by earning 1,000,000 base points.

Buying, Give or Transfer World of Hyatt Points

The World of Hyatt loyalty program allows members to buy, give or transfer points to other members. Here's how it works:

Members can purchase additional points to top up their account for an upcoming redemption or to reach a certain threshold for elite status.

Points can be purchased in increments of 1,000, up to a maximum of 55,000 points per calendar year. The cost to purchase points will vary depending on the number of points purchased and the time of purchase.

Members can give points to other members as a gift. The recipient can use the gifted points for hotel stays, dining, spa services, or other eligible purchases.

To give points, log in to your account and select the “Give Points” option. Then, you should fill out a form (see below) and mail it to Hyatt.

Hyatt combine points form
Example: Hyatt combine points form (Screenshot from hyatt.com)

Members can transfer points to another member's account. To transfer points, log in to your account and select the “Transfer Points” option. The recipient must be a World of Hyatt member to receive the transferred points.

It's important to note that there is a fee associated with buying points and that there is a maximum limit on the amount of points that can be bought, given or transferred.

Also, transferred or gifted points are non-refundable and non-transferable, and it's always good to check the World of Hyatt website for the most up-to-date information on buying, giving or transferring points and for the terms and conditions.

FAQs

The value of 10,000 Hyatt points can vary depending on how they are used. Generally, the value of a Hyatt point can range from 0.5 cents to 1.5 cents.

Hyatt categorizes its hotels and resorts into different categories, with each category requiring a different number of points for a free night. The number of points required for a free night ranges from 5,000 points for a Category 1 hotel to 40,000 points for a Category 7 hotel.

For example, A Category 1 hotel would require 5,000 points per night, while a Category 2 hotel would require 8,000 points per night, a Category 3 hotel would require 12,000 points per night, and so on. The exact number of points required can vary depending on the dates of travel, as some hotels may charge more points during peak travel seasons.
