In this Review..

American Express Black Card is a highly desirable card that is “invite only,” for big spenders. The estimated spending amounts of the invitees are $250,000 to $500,000 a year on their card. This card is for high net worth individuals who make over $1,000,000 a year and who are big spenders. There are many high-end benefits for card holders.

If you carry the Centurion® Card from American Express, you're eligible to earn 1.5X Membership Rewards points per dollar on purchases over $5,000 (Up to 1 million additional points per calendar year) plus 1X Membership Rewards points on all eligible purchases.

Many of these benefits are exclusive to card holders and other cards in the market do not have the same or even similar benefits. The value of these perks ranges, but can be worth thousands of dollars. The cardmember agreement does state a hefty $10,000 initiation fee when you open the card and a $5,000 annual fee (See rates and fees).

Credit Card Reviews Methodology

In order to determine the best possible credit cards, we look at things like fees, interest rates and rewards. We do this with companies that are associated with us as partners as well as other offerings. From there, we make a decision about what the best card is related to different categories and needs. We focus on interest rate cost & fees, especially the cost of carrying a balance, rewards – cards accumulate rewards in different currencies—points, miles, cash back—and their values vary widely usability – cards that accept a wide range of credit profiles and offer simple solutions for things like checking your credit score or contacting. We also consider customer reviews.

We look at cards related to good or excellent credit ratings that will then provide a range of different benefits and improvements for someone who has these scores. We also look at low fees when it comes to those who have lower credit scores.
